The two-year-old clocked the fast time off the day as he dictated terms.
Going on to win by 32.3 metres without being asked for any real effort, reinsman Jackson Painting was thrilled with the performance.
"He is a nice horse. Very nice," Painting said.
"We haven't got to the bottom of him yet, he hasn't had the earplugs pulled or anything yet and he did it all on his own accord.
"He's a pretty talented horse."
Purchased out of the trials in New Zealand, Blazing Banner is owned by Leeton's Michael Boots.
Painting was impressed with his style across the Tasman and he definitely reproduced after finding his way to the front early in the HRNSW 2YO Guaranteed Pace (1740m).
Clocking a mile rate of 1:54.0, Blazing Banner finished off the race with sectionals of 27.1 and 28.2 seconds.

Originally thought to be Vicbred eligible, Painting is unsure of what's next for the promising type.
However he does remind the stable of their impressive two-year-old from last season Rocknroll Runa.
"He's by the same sire and I said to Dave, who has been on holidays, during the week that I think he's nearly as good as him," Painting said.
"They are very similar - small but well put together, don't wear a boot and probably don't need a head check.
"They're just really well balanced horses and I don't think there is much between them."
The MIA Breeders Plate, which will be run in December this year, is one option he will be eligible for.
Painting expects to stay local but will keep an eye out for any metropolitan options.
It was one of two victories for the Painting and David Kennedy combination across the 10-race card with Killara Missile also scoring a big win.
Meanwhile The Mountain is the fastest qualifier out of the four up to 53 heats.
Coming from last with an impressive display, the Brett Woodhouse trained three-year-old clocked a mile rate of 1:55.6.
The final will be run at the club's next meeting on Friday.
