A man accused of smashing the windows of a bottle shop to steal booze and cigarettes has been arrested.

Just before midnight on Tuesday, a man approached the front doors of The Union Hotel bottleshop on the corner of Baylis and Forsyth Streets, and allegedly attempted to smash the glass with a brick before gaining entry by kicking in the glass.
Police say that once inside, the man stole cigarettes and alcohol before fleeing the shop.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended and established a crime scene.
Following inquiries, about 3.30pm on Wednesday, police attended a hotel on Fitzmaurice Street, and located a 35-year-old man in the gaming room, allegedly in possession of a set of nunchucks.
He was arrested and taken to Wagga Police Station, where he was charged with break and enter, and possess prohibited weapon.
The man was refused bail to appear in Wagga Local Court today.
