Despite conceding an early try, the Cherrypickers had far too much fire power for Albury to take a 40-8 victory at Alfred Oval on Sunday.
Coach Nick Hall thought it was a much improved performance following their third loss of the season.
"It was a pretty physical game there at times but we snuck away with it," Hall said.
"We let them score first, which is a problem, but it was a good offload by them, but we controlled the game after that.
"Our line speed and energy was much better in defence."

However they did pick up a couple of injury concerns with Tyler Cornish and Inoke Vunipola failing to complete the game.
Both are in doubt for the clash with winless Brothers on Sunday.
Nic Hall impressed before and after he switched to fullback to cover Cornish while Nayah Freeman and Mitch Cornish both crossed for doubles in the win.
