The Wagga side are the only team to get the better of the Blues and come into the rematch at Twickenham after a 36-10 win over Brothers at Equex Centre on Saturday.
Buoyed by the return of halfback Tyler Jones, coach Simon Woolford was pleased with the team's performance in the derby clash.
"I thought we looked as good as we have for a while with the ball," Woolford said.
"Tyler made a difference as we were a lot more organised and defensively we were pretty sound.
"They broke our line for one try and the other was off a long kick from a scrum so there are a lot of positives to take out of it."

Noa Fotu bagged a hat-trick in the win, Chris Maher put in his best game for the club while Hayden Jolliffe also impressed in his return.
With Craig Field set to return next week, Woolford believes it bodes well.
"We were a lot more composed, more patient and off the back of that we scored some good tries," he said.
"Our shape particularly down in our good ball stuff looked pretty good and defensively we were way off the mark last week and I thought we made a lot of improvements."
Woolford had been concerned by a lack of progress with the fifth placed side.
However he's hoping the win will be a confidence boost heading into the clash with the ladder leaders.
"We're getting there slowly, we still did some things we need to fix but there will always be something to fix," he said.
