After suffering a 38-6 loss against Southcity, followed by a 48-4 thrashing by Tumut, the Dragons fell two points short of the premiers last week.
Heading into another clash against the Bulls at Laurie Daley Oval on Sunday, McCrone remains confident
"It was good to put a good performance in again," McCrone said.
"Everyone showed up to play and there wasn't a bad performance, which was the most pleasing thing.
"Although we didn't get the win they scored three tries off kicks and the other two off bad defensive reads so there is heaps of upside."
The Dragons are set to welcome back Grant Hughes however Sam Kery will miss the clash.
Tyler Madden takes his place in the second row.
McCrone has been impressed with how the youngster has stepped up this season.
"Tyler has been awesome for us," he said.
"He's not a winger but started on the wing for us and now he's had a crack in the middle and has gone really well there.
"He's played most of his junior footy on an edge, and that's where he was playing reserve grade so I'm confident he'll be good there."
