PUT simply, Saturday's 40-point home win over Griffith was a must-win to keep them within striking distance of Riverina League finals.

And the Bulldogs hope the 12.18 (90) to 5.10 (40) win will give them the belief they need before confronting a testing fortnight against top three sides Coolamon and Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.
With Collingullie-Glenfield Park accounting for the Tigers across town, a loss would have put the Bulldogs two wins outside the top five.
But their third win in eight games, all of which have come at Maher Oval, plus a superior percentage over the Tigers and Demons keeps them right in the hunt.
Young forward Baxter Wallett backed up his four goals in the Bulldogs' last-start loss to the Tigers with another three against the Swans, and could have finished with a bag if not for inaccurate kicking in tricky windy conditions.
Fellow youngster Billy Glanvill also finished with three goals as the Bulldogs improved to 3-5.
"The young guys were excellent. We got that run and flow back into our game which obviously plays into the hands of those younger and quicker players," Bulldogs coach Michael Mazzocchi said.
"That's the way we need to play, the last couple of weeks against Mangoplah and Tigers we, for whatever reason, went away from that.
"That also comes off the back of Matty Ness coming back in, he's really good to link up with and uses the ball well.
Even though (experienced forward) Brad Ashcroft came back in (from a back injury), for whatever reason he wasn't the focal point and Baxter was.
"I'd say he had seven or eight shots on goal, his leading patterns were really good and his hands were excellent.
"He's a talented footballer and is still learning as he goes. But every week what he is picking up is recognising what players can do and when he should lead, and the players are getting that trust in Baxter they can use him."
The next step for the Bulldogs is to secure a first win against a top five side, and a first victory away from Maher Oval.

They get an opportunity to tick both those boxes against Coolamon next week, before they host the Lions the following round.
They should get some key cavalry back with ruckman Shaun Allan likely to return after missing two games with a minor knee issue, while centre-half forward Mitch Ward (hamstring) is also a strong chance.
The Bulldogs also hope 2019 best and fairest Nathan Byrne's work commitments will allow him to play his first game of the season shortly.
"We're expecting to get a couple back, we've had a bad run with injuries and having our good kids going away for rep footy," Mazzocchi said.
"Having said that Rhett Weidemann played centre-half back today and played a fantastic role. It's great the young guys have stood up but we'll be strengthened once these other guys come in.
"Hopefully we can get on a run and keep the wins rolling now."
While quicker ball movement and using their speed was a key factor against the Swans their tackling was a massive improvement on their loss to the Tigers.
Turvey Park racked up around 60 tackles, double what they did against Tigers.
"We just need to keep building on what we're trying to do. When we don't have the footy at times we need to maintain that pressure and tackling," Mazzocchi said.
"We got to 60 odd tackles which is where you need to win games of footy. You can see when we play our good games it's on the back of pressure.
We talk about attacking and game plans, but that's still the most important thing."
