Reddies have lost all six of their games to date, but only fell three points short against Ag College when they met earlier this season.
The two university rivals will clash at Beres Ellwood Oval on Saturday.
CSU coach Paul Hood is hoping having some familiar faces back in the line up can help turn the tables.
"We've got a few guys back from injury and unavailability so it's shaping up to be a pretty good game," Hood said.
"Hopefully they can make a bit of a difference."
Dean Smart missed the first clash with Ag College while Hamish McMahon, Rob McMahon, Serevasoi Doli and David Ah Lam all return from their last clash against Tumut.
Both teams come into the clash after having a bye last week and CSU are looking to put a disappointing display behind them.
Reddies failed to capitalise on Tumut having two players red carded in their last clash and went from trailing 5-0 at half-time to lose 41-5 despite their numerical advantage.
"We just didn't have any intensity in the second half and just let them do what they wanted," Hood said.
"It was very disappointing to be honest as it was a game we probably should have won.
"We just can't get that elusive W but we will keep trying."

Ag College's 15-12 victory in round three is their sole win for the season.
Hood hopes the team's discipline is on song after letting an opportunity slip the last time the two teams played.
"We let ourselves down last time we played them so the boys will be keen to redeem themselves," he said.
"We gave way too many penalties away in that game but have addressed that since.
"I thought previous to that game our defence was a little loose but we've fixed that up and our defence had been pretty good up until last week.
"Hopefully we can keep that momentum rolling, get some better discipline as ball control is our biggest thing at the moment.
"We're making silly errors when we've got the opposition under pressure."
Second half performances are another thing CSU want to address.
They were in the fight against Griffith before letting it slip leading into the Tumut fadeaway.
"It seems to be our second halves as against Griffith we were in that game until about the 70th minute so it's another one we probably let go," Hood said.
"We should have played better against Ag College and then there's Tumut so that's three we were into well into the second half.
"It's disappointing we can't get the killer instinct in the second half, come out with a bit more intensity and finish the job."
Meanwhile Waratahs and Tumut will clash for the second time in as many weeks.
The Wagga side was too good on Saturday however this time around the game will be at Jarrah Oval.
