The Wanderers have turned the corner in recent weeks, overcoming a tough start to the season to register back-to-back victories and climb to sixth spot on the ladder.
Wagga City now prepare to start again, with the beginning of the second round starting this weekend, where the Wanderers will travel to Canberra on Sunday to take on second-placed O'Connor Knights.
Fry believes they will go into the weekend with confidence after a couple of recent wins.
"Definitely, we've had a couple of really good results. The wins have been coming, our performances have been getting better, it's just been a bit of consistency on the park," Fry said.
"Getting players back and being able to get a full-strength squad on the park for a few weeks helps. Even though we had a couple out last weekend, having that same core group really helps.
"We haven't really been able to have that this season, including pre-season, so it's been pretty tough."
While the Wanderers lost their opening five games, Fry knew things would turn.
"Externally things may have appeared more grim than they were in camp," he said.
"We've been training really well, we've always had really good numbers at training and the enthusiasm has always been there I think.
"The feeling was it was coming."
O'Connor defeated the Wanderers 2-0 in the opening round. Fry is confident in the team's ability to improve on many of the results from the opening six weeks.
"The first time O'Connor beat us 2-0, we should have had a couple probably and maybe they should have had another one or two as well," he said.
"We know we're capable against this team. I think the following three weeks are all home games. So we were travelling against the top teams and three weeks travelling can take it out of you.
"So we'll get these other teams to Gissing, which can be that little bit uncomfortable for them, but at the same time we have to make sure we're putting in the work to get the results."

Fry was co-captain of last year's title-winning Wanderers team. This season is obviously a lot different, with a new-look squad, but he is still enjoying his football.
"I'm enjoying it a lot, personally," he said.
"It is a bit different and I'm taking on more of a mentor role. We've got a lot of new players and I don't think the target is the same as it was last year.
"What we can get out of (this year) is bringing the younger players through and give them experience playing ones and playing together.
"We've got to try and develop that core group of players for future years."
O'Connor Knights have lost just one of their opening seven games and come into this week's game on the back of wins over top three teams ANU and Queanbeyan City.
The Wanderers play on Sunday at 3pm at Kaleen Oval.
