IN OTHER NEWS:
Wagga venues accepting the vouchers are thin on the ground with just 14 registered on the Service NSW website, and those on the list say the program has delivered a much-needed boost for business.
Owner of Wagga Bowl Callan Major estimated his business has seen up to 20 per cent of their weekly revenue coming from the vouchers.
"Overall we've had a really great experience with the vouchers," he said. "Like most local businesses we have really appreciated the community support."
He said the vouchers are great for attracting families and groups that might not usually be able to fit a day of bowling in the budget.
"Many community members can't afford to go out these day and the vouchers mean that families can enjoy an afternoon out together," he said.
For the bowling alley, use of the vouchers has been consistent and largely local, but other venues say big-ticket events like the Cold Cup, the Raiders game, Fitz Fest and Mother's Day boosted use.
The Curious Rabbit's Vickie Burkinshaw said she's noticed a definite hike in Discover vouchers being used over the past month.
"The events all help and the stunning weather," Ms Burkinshaw said. "We've had so many customers saying they've never come in before, and ahead of Fitz Fest a lot more people were asking about the vouchers."
"There is so much going on all the time in Wagga and people are really responding to us."
