POLICE have charged a man with more than 15 offences related to livestock theft and illegal hunting in the Murrumbidgee region.

Rural Crime Investigators attached to the Murrumbidgee Police District were alerted to reports of illegal hunting and livestock theft at Nombinnie Nature Reserve north of Hillston on May 11, sparking an investigation.
As a result, investigators seized a trailer containing rangeland goats, a drone and hunting equipment.

A 49-year-old Euabalong man was arrested at Lake Cargelligo Police Station on on May 19, and charged with 18 alleged offences, including stealing livestock, killing livestock, aggravated rural trespass, illegal hunting, and national park related offences.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Griffith Local Court on Wednesday, July 14.
Investigations are ongoing into the alleged sale and distribution of unlawfully obtained goats.
Rural Crime Prevention Team Detective Sergeant Damian Nott says police can and will turn up anywhere, sending a stern warning to those breaking the law.
"This result sends a clear message to anyone doing the wrong thing that serious penalties apply," he said.
"Provisions are in place for police to seize vehicles and hunting equipment when an alleged crime is believed to have taken place,."
