Women Walk the Globe is an annual event held by the Country Women's Association to raise funds, support and awareness in aid of women and children overseas.
Jenny Chobdzynski, the CWA Riverina Group international officer, said members from all over the Riverina had travelled to Collins Park in Wagga to take part in the event.
Their focus was particularly on sending aid to those in the Pacific Islands.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Every year, we study a new country, and we make a donation to an orphanage or a relief fund."
Ms Chobdzynski said when it came to projects, the aim was to fund ones that major agencies overlook and more sustainable ones.
"We have been involved in the training of nurses throughout the Pacific for a long time," she said.
"Now they are able to do most of it themselves, which we are very proud of. We also support mums and babies and provide them with little packs.
"Sometimes we buy seeds and provide information on how to grow them and sell the product."
Monday's event was open to all, with a mini-globe and map set up so those who were unable to walk long distances could still be a part of the event.
Ms Chobdzynski encouraged any women aged 18 or over to consider joining the CWA, as it is a "rewarding" experience.
