Children savoured their last precious hours of the school holidays to the fullest, with hundreds pouring in to the Bidgee Strawberries and Cream's festival on Saturday.

One of them was 10-year-old Lachlan Abood, whose favourite part of the festival was the petting zoo.
"I want to pat the goat," Lachlan said.
"I don't care that much about the chickens."
Footballer Ryan Price came with his 16-month old daughter Matilda, who helped her dad put strawberries into a punnet.
"It's a nice little day out picking some strawberries and hanging out with Matilda," Mr Price said.
"She's loving it. I'm a teacher, so it's school holidays for me."

The day featured putt-putt golf, face-painting, jumping castles, live music, food stalls, and a coffee van for exhausted parents.
Teams of volunteers from the Sunrise Rotary helped run the event, shepherd traffic, and man the barbecues.
Money raised from the strawberry festival went towards Cancer Council NSW.
The event came just before the start of term two, which starts Monday.
