A middle-aged disqualified driver has allegedly tested positive for ice while driving on the Olympic Highway at Bethungra on Thursday.

About 3pm Riverina Highway Patrol were scouring the area as part of Easter Operation, stopping a Holden Commodore travelling south along the highway.
Officers spoke to the man and discovered he had been driving on a disqualified licence, prohibiting him from getting behind the wheel of a vehicle until November 2032.
Afterwards the man took a random breath and drug test and allegedly returned a positive result for methylamphetamine, also known as ice.
IN OTHER NEWS:
In a subsequent search of the vehicle, police allegedly located ice in his car as well as drug paraphernalia and prescription medication.
After their search police noticed "assorted" problems with the car itself, and handed the man several defect notices.
The man was arrested and taken to Cootamundra Police Station, where he underwent a secondary oral fluid test, which again allegedly returned a positive result for ice.
He was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs, possess prohibited drug and possess prescribed restricted substance.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Wagga Wagga Bail Court later today.
