It remains one of the oldest Apex clubs in all of Australia, founded in 1931 by a small group of volunteers who went on to help build Wagga brick by brick.

They built Apex Park as well as the Lake Albert boat ramp and have launched some of the biggest events on the Wagga calendar, including the Gumi Race and Fisherama coming up on Sunday.
Looking back the club's legacy, president Andrew Morrison said he was proud of their collective efforts and the friends they had made along the way.
"I wanted to give back to the community, and it's also a good chance to make new friends around the same age group," Mr Morrison said.
"It's not all service and it's not all social - we try to make it an even balance."
It has been a hard year to be an Apex member, with events such as the Gumi and Duck Race both being cancelled due to prohibitive COVID restrictions.
However Mr Morrison confirmed the Fisherama event will be going ahead as usual this Sunday, after some previous uncertainty.
South Wagga Apex member Josh Paul said one of the events that was "close to my heart" was their Christmas appeal, where they take elderly people out for dinner so they have company over Christmas.
Another one of his favourites is their upcoming Easter event, where volunteers help out senior citizens to do the gardening.
"In Wagga if you need hands on deck and you need people to help out to make an event happen, they generally call on South Wagga Apex, which is pretty special.
"We all have young families, and it means our kids are brought up knowing they can give back to the communities just as much as the community gives to them."
