WAGGA'S young people have a little extra to celebrate with thanks to recent funding targeted at Youth Week in regional communities.

Wagga City Council secured $3331 through the NSW Government initiative which they matched in order to help celebrate the occasion.
Council's social planning coordinator Lisa Saffrey said for Wagga, the money would unite generations.
"Wagga City Council celebrates NSW Youth Week and NSW Seniors Festival through FRESH, an intergenerational festival program of talks, workshops and events delivered throughout the month of April," she said.

Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward said the support or local councils was vital given recent hardships.
"Now more than ever it is so important for our young people to stay connected," he said.
"COVID-19 has presented so many challenges and Youth Week gives young people an outlet to avoid social isolation.
"Youth Week provides young people a chance to share ideas, attend events, voice their concerns, showcase their talents and connect with others."
Minister for Local Government Shelley Hancock said councils play an important role in creating the next generation of leaders, and Youth Week events are an opportunity for young leaders to get involved.
"Events will be organised by young people, for young people," she said.
"Young people will have a say on what activities are important and beneficial to them and will develop skills they can carry into their adulthood."
The theme of NSW Youth Week 2021 is 'Together more than ever' and will be celebrated from April 16-24.
Wagga's FRESH festival will deliver a number of events targeted at youth including:
- No Lights No Lycra, a free form dance session, and two workshops presented by Bindi Bosses 'Empowerment Through Movement' and 'Dance Through India'.
- FRESH Fridays, are Wagga live music events held every Friday throughout April. Artists will present workshops on Saturday's to engage young people in a variety of artforms.
- The Wagga Wagga City Council Annual Grants Program, through the Youth Led Initiatives grant category, funded local musician, Declan Lucas, to the amount of $3000, to present 'Strum 2021, a live music event targeting our City's youth scheduled for Sunday 18 April.
