The 18-year-old was the leading wicket-taker in the Twenty20 competition, snaring 15 wickets at an average of 7.50.
It was four more than his nearest rival Macgregor Hanigan, who took eight in the one match.
However in his eight one-dayers for the Cats he's taken seven wickets at 27.70.
"The T20s were pretty good, I did alright, but it helps when everyone is swinging real hard," Grigg said.
"You just have to put it in the spot and hope they don't time it as well."
Grigg hopes it will be a confidence boost heading into the remainder of the season.
Starting with a clash against Wagga RSL at Robertson Oval on Saturday
"I don't usually take that many wickets but now they are starting to come a little bit easier.
"I'll still be trying pretty hard to get some more."
Cats captain Josh Thompson was thrilled with how well the young paceman adapted to the shortest format of the game.
"In the T20s he bowled fantastic and is a real captain's bowler,'' Thompson said.
"He just bowls to a field and very rarely does the wrong thing with ball in hand.
"I think the short game really suits him as he can execute so many balls in the right area and it is a credit to him.
"He got out of it what he put in so I was really happy with his efforts."
Wagga City have only lost one match so far this season but their bowling is one thing Thompson is looking for them to improve.
Especially with Max Harper only contributing with the bat due to a side issue.
"I think we're lacking a bit with the ball and haven't been starting well with the ball," Thompson said.
"If we are going to look at places to improve, I think bowling and fielding is definitely the issue.
"When you are on top there is always something you can do better."
Wagga City takes on Wagga RSL in a day-night clash at Robertson Oval.
With heavy rainfall forecast for Friday, the 2.30pm timeslot will allow more drying time for the ground.
However after all matches were called off last weekend, Thompson isn't expecting to be out in the middle.
"I thought last week was pretty fair with all games getting called off but if the rain buckets down and all the other grounds get called off and our game goes ahead it seems unfair but we'll take it if it happens," he said.
Wagga City's line up is unsettled after Jon Nicoll and Tom Burge picked up hamstring injuries in the Twenty20 final win over Wagga RSL.
