With temperatures set to nudge 40 degrees today and tomorrow, officers from the Riverina Police District are bracing for more people out and about.
The district's Acting Inspector Stephen Marshall said dehydration was a concern.
"People are probably going to drink more [alcohol] ... but our officers here are prepared," he said.
"Stay hydrated, and please don't drink to excess because we all know alcohol does dehydrate you."

The Bureau of Meteorology forecasts a slight drop in mercury heading into the following week, reaching tops of low 30s by next Monday.
