Duck lines up The Analyzer and last-start winner Heavens Hurricane but after both drew eight he's far from confident.
"It is going to be hard from the draws," Duck said. "We will just have to go back and hope for a bit of luck."
The 21-year-old had been working alongside father Saul before deciding to take out his trainers license.
It's a move that has worked out so far with The Analyzer only finishing outside the placings once in five starts while Heavens Hurricane has a win and a second in his two starts since being purchased.
"I've been doing it for a while now so I thought I may as well get my license and have a go," Duck said.
The pair are the only two Duck has at the races but is currently working nine horses.
It's more than enough to keep him busy.
"They are both in good form, are working well and if they had drawn better they would have been in with a chance," Duck said.
"We will just have to see what happens.
"The Analyzer got no luck last time .... and he didn't really get a clear run at them but he still went well and I was real happy with him.
"He ran home while (Heavens Hurricane) has been working real good at home and I expected him to go good. He will go good again but it is just the draw."
