Scott will play his first match in six years as the Bulldogs try to keep up their strong start to the season.
He comes in for Ben Willis as the RSL look to bolster their bowling ranks on Saturday.
A Bulldogs junior, Scott is looking forward to making his return.
"It's been a while so I might be a bit rusty but hopefully I will be right," Scott said.
"I'm looking forward to it and the boys have been going well so it will be some good competition."
The 22-year-old impressed in the pre-season before harvest commitments meant a later start to the season.
However with Willis out, captain Sam Perry wanted another bowling option to take on the premiers.
"I probably would have liked to give him a go in twos just because he hasn't played cricket for a few years but with Benny Willis out we needed another quick," Perry said.
"It is a good opportunity and while he's probably been thrown into the deep end a little bit against Cats he is definitely capable of taking it into his own hands."
Scott will open the bowling.
Both Wagga RSL and Wagga City have only lost once this season, to unbeaten South Wagga, after their opening round clash was washed out.
Perry believes this is a great opportunity to show the side can push the top two.
"We've definitely been building towards it but it is very evident Cats and South Wagga are the two teams to beat," he said.
"This week is a great challenge but there is no reason why we can't do it."
After a strong start Charlie Cull is also back in the side, but whether he can bowl is yet to be determined.
Perry is hoping Wagga RSL can extend their form with both bat and ball but is wary of the Wagga City's batting line up.
"They are a pretty good all round team and a few of their blokes have started to hit their straps which is alarming for us considering a lot of their runs are usually scored by Josh (Thompson) and Jono (Nicoll)," he said.
"In the last few weeks Benny Turner, Max Harper and Aaron Maxwell have scored a few runs.
"It is good to see there is some good, quality cricket being played in Wagga but 50 overs is a long time out in the field so we have to try to restrict them where we can and in terms of batting get off to a good start."
