After an unbeaten 31 last week, the 15-year-old brought up his first senior half century in the six-wicket win over Wagga City at Robertson Oval.
Batting at number four, Scott and Joel Robinson helped steady the Blues on their path to victory.
After being elevated up the order to start the season Scott was just pleased to play his role after scoring an unbeaten 53 in the win.
"Last week I batted four too so it was pretty good to get a start there and I was pretty keen to bat there again," Scott said.
"Joel was supporting me well in the middle, telling me to play my natural game and to get off strike so there wasn't as much pressure on me so that was good."
Robinson made 50 before chipping one back to bowler Joel Thompson 17 short of the target.
While the coach played an important role, captain Luke Gerhard has been thrilled with Scott's input after putting in plenty of work leading into the season.
"It was a good knock from Joel and with the effort Jake puts in all season, he's having a hit four times a week, it is good to see him have a reward, bat four for us and score some runs," Gerhard said.
"He's a big part of the future of our club so it is good to see.
"At the start of the year we talked about giving guys reward for putting in the effort and you can't go pass Snake.
"He is probably the number one trainer at the club and while we are sitting down having a beer at training he's over there doing drop balls to himself.
"It's a credit to him and he's come a long way in the last 12 months."
Wagga City finished at 6-168 from their 50 overs with Jon Nicoll unbeaten on 91.
However they struggled to accelerate their innings with Nicoll score coming off 155 balls.
Smeeth was the pick of the bowlers finishing with 3-20 off his eight overs while Scott also chipped in with the ball to snare Aaron Maxwell (31) after a brilliant catch in the outfield by Noah Harper on debut.
After Wagga City came out on top in last season's grand final, Gerhard was pleased with the performance from the Blues.
"As a bowling team I think we bowled pretty well," he said. "Sykesy (Mitch Sykes) is away and Wagga (Warren Clunes) stood up and bowled 10 and bowled pretty much and Chase Grintell bowled 10 overs straight so to have them guys step up when we have a few people out is always good."
