The pair took four horses to Riverina Paceway on Friday and went home with three winners and a runner up.
Painting was pleased with how things worked out.
"On paper it looked good and a few good draws certainly helped," Painting said.
Killara Missile kicked things off after winning on debut.
The daughter Mach Three can be a hard one to handle but Painting was thrilled she put her best foot forward.
"She has a stack of ability but hasn't got a lot between her head," he said.
"She is slowly learning what it is all about and was on her best behaviour."
Cherokee Joe then went one better after a couple of placings to bring up his first win.
Painting hopes it will be enough to qualify for the group two Breeders Challenge Blue next week.
"The two-year-old is learning what racing is about but should go through his grades as well," he said.
"We'll head to the Breeders Blue and I think he will be pretty competitive there."
Painting then finished second behind Killara Eagle on Coolhand Easton before Harry Ovens completed the big day for the Euroley combination.
After resuming from a spell with an all-the-way win, the three-year-old is now headed to the Griffith Cup heats next month.
"Harry has come back a lot better horse and was going really well before going for a spell," Painting said.
"He's been working super and raced accordingly.
"We will aim him up at the Griffith Cup.
"Unfortunately for the owners they can't get their (Vicbred) bonus at the moment so we'll place him around here for the better money but he is a really nice here and wait for the borders to open"
It backed up a winning double at Albury on Tuesday after Adira's success on Menangle on Saturday.
Painting is thrilled with how the team is going.
"We've got a really good team of horses at the moment, which definitely helps," he said.
"We're trying to train a bit more quality than quantity and it is working out at the moment."
