Perryman and brothers Nick and Joe decided to play for Osborne in this year's AFL Riverina Championship after the Demons opted not to take part.
Although the Ostriches won just one of six games, Ed was rewarded for a standout season by polling 21 votes at the club his father Max played for, edging out Elliot Powell for their biggest individual award.
The 20-year-old has been part of the GWS Giants Academy for some time and was initially keen on spreading his wings elsewhere next year, but coronavirus prompted him to commit to another year at Collingullie-Glenfield Park.
"It was good to play a consistent year and hopefully I can do that for the rest of my career really," he said.
"I'll play at Gullie next year, then maybe go down to Albury the year after and play at Lavvy (Lavington).
"I was hoping to play at Gullie this year then go down to Lavvy next year, but that obviously didn't work out. I thought I'd have another year back home, and maybe get a bit bigger and put on some more size."
Normally a midfielder or winger, the 20-year-old spent the back half of the season on the half-back flank for Osborne where he was able to use his speed and creativity.
"I played a bit there last year for the Giants Academy. I don't mind playing there, you can watch things unfold," he said.
"I thought when I went in the back-line after the third game I read the game pretty well, used the footy and created some run."
Ed said he was grateful to Osborne for giving him and his siblings an outlet to play football in 2020.
"I was happy just to play a bit of footy," he said.
"We did the whole pre season and worked pretty hard, and to not play would have been pretty disappointing. It was nice to play six games.
"It was definitely weird playing for a different team at first but we knew most of the people there through Dad's time there."
