A number of commercial businesses in the Wagga CBD were broken into throughout August and September with cash, jewellery and electronic items reportedly stolen.
Officers from the Riverina Police District began investigating the offences, leading to the arrest of a 25-year-old man allegedly hiding in a roof cavity last week.
Officers from the Riverina Proactive Crime Team went to a home on Bruce Street, Tolland, about 11.15am on September 30 where they allegedly found the man.

After a subsequent search of the property, police also found cannabis and clothing allegedly linked to the break and enters.
The man was charged with six counts of aggravated break, enter and steal, cultivate prohibited plant, malicious damage and breach AVO.
He initially appeared in Wagga Local Court on October 1, and reappeared today where he did not apply for bail and it was formally refused. The matter returns to court on November 17.
Riverina Police District Detective Acting Inspector Phil Malligan said their investigations were not over yet, though.
"Police believe another individual was involved, and are in the view that this second person is evading apprehension by police," he said.
Further arrests are expected to take place.
