The Home Hotel on the corner of Fitzmaurice and Kincaid Streets was originally built in the early 20th century and was long regarded as Wagga's home of live music.
The pub was put up for sale in mid 2018, before closing down later that year.
Fitzpatricks Real Estate commercial consultant Greg Howick said the buyer was a local investor with experience in the Fitzmaurice Street area.
"They own other sites in the city and they've upgraded and developed other sites quite successfully," he said.

Mr Howick said the buyers were currently looking over designs and concepts for the space which he said would likely be redeveloped with a nod to the features of the current building, similar to other redevelopments along the street.
"Fitzmaurice Street, if you look up and down there with developments over the years, it's all been pretty sympathetic to the old style," he said.
"I would imagine they would look to incorporate old features and new features, that's pretty typical."
Mr Howick said the sale of the pub after over two years on the market followed a trend of investors looking to put their money into properties.
"Since COVID came in we've seen a resurgence of interest in real estate investment from a commercial point of view, I think it's because of the lack of bank interest and the lack of confidence in shares that people see bricks and mortar as a pretty sound investment," he said.
