Weidemann returned home to the Bulldogs this year after one season with North Albury in the Ovens and Murray League.
The 20-year-old was used predominantly in the ruck by the Bulldogs where he performed admirably against must bigger opponents.
Weidemann finished with 50 votes from the six rounds to narrowly edge out fellow Turvey Park youngster Jack Haggar on 47.
Weidemann also finished equal third in the league best and fairest.
Tim Doyle (25) and Alex Rogers (25) were next best, while Lachlan Leary was given coach's award.
Henry Jenkins won the reserve grade best and fairest, while Rhys Leary won under 17s.
The Bulldogs are also expected to announce their new coach imminently.
Josh Ashcroft and Chase Grintell took over from Mark Carroll and Jeremy Sykes this season. The club recently advertised the position and it is understood a non-playing coach within the region is the front-runner.
