The 37-year-old was part of Blues premierships in 2003, 2007, 2008 and 2010, and coached the club to a preliminary final in 2011, but hadn't played in seven years before coming out of retirement this season.
Besides an one-off game in 2016 but has enjoyed being back at the club and has only missed one game this season. Even if it wasn't really part of his plan.
"I was just going to play ressies with a few mates but a few pulled out and they said they were short on outside backs," Richards said.
"It's good being back in first grade and I'm loving it.
"I shouldn't have retired."
Richards was one three Tumut players who had tasted success against Gundagai at Anzac Park until last week and is out to repeat the dose at Twickenham on Sunday.
"Hopefully we can get the win, have the week off and be fresh for the GF," he said.
"That is the best way to do it.
"We've got a few injuries, which is normal for this time of year."
Tumut will toss up a number of changes to their team this week with Adam Pearce, Jacob Toppin and Jacob Sturt all missing the 20-18 win over Saturday.
