Beau Hilton died after a crash at a motocross event at the Wagga Motorcycle Sports Club at Yarragundry on Sunday.
Since then, the club took to social media to ask the community to pay tribute to the 15-year-old rider by tying "a blue bow for Beau" at the Yarragundry site.
"If you would like to come and tie a bow or lay some flowers, you are welcome over the next few days," the Facebook post said.
In other news:
"We encourage you to bring your own blue material for your bow or bring some old bars or a sprocket or goggles to hang."
Coolamon mayor John Seymour said his "sympathies go out to the family for the tragedy they are suffering" at the moment.
He said the Hilton family has lived in Coolamon for three generations and are very well-known members of the community.
"In a small community where everybody knows everyone, they come together and try to help out in whatever way possible," he said.
"This had a pretty big impact, particularly on the young ones. (Beau) was quite popular and they are feeling it pretty hard.
"But the support that has come in for the family has been unreal. It is certainly a tragic incident."
A NSW Education spokesperson said in a small, close community like Coolamon, young people are well-known to one another, so the Coolamon Central School is offering support to its students.
"Coolamon Central have ensured the wellbeing of students by providing counsellors on-site ... for as long as needed," they said.
