The Wanderers went down 3-1 to third-placed Gungahlin United but lost no admirers from another spirited display in the NPL One competition.
Gungahlin had the better of the opening half and went into the break 2-0 ahead.
The home team got the first goal of the second half to extend the lead to 3-0, before the Wanderers were awarded a penalty.
Megan Castle made no mistake and converted as the Wanderers managed to break even with Gungahlin in the second stanza.
In a further positive, the Wanderers' women's reserve grade team enjoyed a 3-2 victory over Gungahlin.
A Kimberly Morgan double helped the Wanderers come from 2-0 down at half-time to win 3-0.
It was the team's second win in a row.
The Wanderers women will host Woden Weston at Gissing Oval on Sunday in the final round.
