The Wanderers found themselves down 2-0 early in the contest and that proved to be the final scoreline against Tuggernong United at Hawker Football Centre.
Wanderers coach Sam Gray said it was another performance to be proud of.
"It wasn't reflective of the game, the scoreline. They got two long-balls through and beat us on that but we take a lot from it," Gray said.
"For us as a club, and I've maintained this and I'll maintain my dignity about this that we are growing and growing as a club.
"We were 2-0 down at half-time and went out in the second half and had double figure shots on goal. We've got to be positive, if we continue to be positive then the club will continue to grow. I think as a sport, looking forward, we need to grow."
Olivia Moore, Lisa Cary and Maddie Harris were the Wanderers' best in defeat. Gray also gave special mention the midfield, who he said gelled really well and drove the team forward.
The Wanderers sit in eighth position on the ladder with two rounds remaining. Gray is confident the club finish the year off well and continue to head in the right direction.
"We're doing everything right," he said.
"We've got an average age of 16, we need time together and we're getting it."
The Wanderers' women's reserve grade team was able to enjoy a 2-1 win over Tuggernong United.
