A sideline conversion from Monique Bullock after the siren was all that separated the two teams when they met to start the season and Gundagai coach Courtney Barratt hopes her team will be better prepared this time as they need to win to ensure they hold off Southcity's attempt to qualify for the finals for the first time.
"I think last time we went in unsure on how they were going to turn up," Barratt said.
"The season before they didn't have a team and before that we were on par with them and I think we probably got a little ahead of ourselves going into it, our preparation wasn't as good as it needed to be and we might have been a little complacent."
Gundagai lost their first four games of the season but wins over Southcity and Junee in the past fortnight moved them around the Bulls and into fourth place.
However Barratt is hoping the team has built some confidence after their last two wins.
"With it being so close to finals hopefully it will give the girls a bit more drive to knuckle down and get the job done," she said.
"They are just so desperate to get into finals and it would be really lovely for them as they have worked really hard during the season.
"It would be a nice reward for all their effort."
Monique Luff starred in their 36-6 win over Junee, crossing for four of her team's seven tries at Laurie Daley Oval on Saturday.
However Barratt is looking for a better performance at home with their season on the line.
Meanwhile Young continued their unbeaten start with a 28-0 win over Southcity while Brothers warmed up for a big clash with Kangaroos with a 42-6 win over Tumut.
