The $23 chance defied some more fancied rivals to lead all the way in the Ladbrokes Super Series 5th Grade Final (400m).
Finn Bop finished second in her heat eight days earlier, but ended a string of near misses for Kemp to claim the $7500 prize.
After drawing box three, Finn thought a fast start would be crucial in her attempt to take down a quality field.
It panned out just that way as she held Run Fast Maximus ($3.30 fav) off in the straight to take the feature race by almost a length.
"I can't believe it actually," Finn said.
"I thought if she was quick enough early she could get a break on the field and be quick enough to win as she runs 23.20 every week I trial or race her.
"She is honest as you can a dog out of the boxes and that's what wins them."
Finn Bop ran 23.21 seconds to take out the feature.
Kemp purchased the bitch as a pup but hasn't had the best of luck with her until Friday night.
She was sent to Victorian trainer Correy Grenfell but injured her back and returned home.
"She wasn't really the same dog so we thought we would give her a different environment and sent her to Geoff Sheather," Kemp said.
"It's a credit to Geoff as he got her going - she was flying out of the boxes again.
"She wasn't running much time but was doing what she needed to do.
"When Dad passed away we got rid of a lot of dogs but I thought I would just get my own dogs back to train and since I've got her back she's had seven starts for six placings and now she has won a race."
Meanwhile Peter Cowell continues to have more success in his comeback to racing.
He took out the other rich final on the card as Jed Bale backed up his heat win for further success.
However Jed Bale ($9.50) had to do it the hard way after railing through from box one to find the lead and despite being headed by Flying Jezza ($16) up the straight he fought back to win by a half head.
