The Crows went down to last year's Riverina League champions Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastalkes in round one.
But the return of talented footballer Abby Favell to centre court and experienced sisters Keira and Jenna McCallum helped Leeton-Whitton kickstart their season against the Bulldogs.
"We've got a lot of youth. We were very happy with our first game, and against Turvey Park we played really well," coach Rachael Broadbent said.
"We had the McCallum sisters come back after a few years away, Jenna plays anywhere and Keira's a shooter.
"With no uni going ahead in any states we've got two or three other girls who were going to leave that stayed as well."
Broadbent said it was a relief a season got off the ground to justify their hard work over the break.
"We didn't really stop training, we've been training since February and the girls kept doing the challenge I set them during the week," Broadbent said.
"We haven't got much height in our team, so we've been working on an all-court diamond defence which paid off on the weekend."
The Crows face a tough test on the road against Wagga Tigers this Saturday, who remain unbeaten through two rounds after a 56-26 win over Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.
Broadbent said they had the opportunity to bring in some outside players from clubs not competing this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But like the Tigers, they opted against it in the best long term interests of the club.
"We could have got other players from other clubs, especially from around here, but are they going to be here next year?," she said.
"It (Tigers game) will be a big test, especially going over to Wagga, and I don't think conditions are going to be very good."
MCUE are the only other unbeaten team after they accounted for Osborne 50-41.
