The 20-year-old key forward landed awkwardly on his right ankle early in the third quarter of last week's one-point loss to Wagga Tigers, with scan revealing a small fracture and extensive ligament damage.
Corbett looked dangerous before the injury, kicking two first half goals, as part of a new-look forward line including Nick Murray, Scott Proctor and Louis Miller which was starting to click.
"I came down on the side of it (ankle) and all my weight went on it. I've done a couple of ankles, but it's probably the worst one I've done, I reckon," he said.
"It'd be close to it (season) I think. I'll be in a moon boot for a month and go from there, but I'll be pushing it.
"There's a little fracture in there, which is unfortunate."
Corbett said the signs were good the forward line was beginning to jel, with Murray kicking four goals and Miller three.
He is confident they have the squad to beat Osborne on the road this Saturday.
"On the weekend it really started to click, but I don't think it (my absence) will affect us too much," he said.
"We've got some pretty good soldiers with Nick Murray, Louis Miller is kicking bags every week and Dan Foley going up there from the ruck."
After playing for Canberra Demons in the NEAFL last year Corbett was keen to get home for this season and put his ambitions of playing at a high level on the backburner for a year.
"At the start of the year I probably was (keen to impress) but it's been a funny year, a rollercoaster where we were playing and not playing," he said.
"I just wanted to come back home, playing country footy is great and I probably enjoy it more than anything."
Corbett said the Lions will learn from their final quarter fadeout against the Tigers, where they gave up a four-goal lead.
"We tried to shut it down a bit too early I think. We went away from our attacking style and didn't take chances," he said.
