The Dragons junior was shocked to hear they won't take part in the 2020 Group Nine season but hopes it will only be a blip on their rich rugby league history.
"I'd love to be able to run around again with the Temora Dragons and all my mates I used to play footy with," Lomax said. "Fingers crossed local footy gets up and running as I know how passionate the Temora community is. Not just rugby league but sport in general."
Lomax was in the centres as the Dragons finally got on the board this season.
The 30-16 win over Cronulla on Sunday ended a poor start to the season with four straight losses split by the coronavirus shutdown.
The 20-year-old hopes it can spark their season.
"It hasn't been an ideal start to the season. It's been a little disrupted and not just for us but for every other team out there as well with the coronavirus crisis but the way we've gone about it and how hard we've trained is a credit to the team and the staff," Lomax said.
"Everyone has ripped right into training and while we haven't stated as we would have planned there is still a lot of games to go and hopefully we can build a lot off the back of that win.
"I know there is a good vibe around training. It wasn't ideal the first few games but we are back on track and everyone is putting in that extra effort.
"We've touched on playing for each other and not trying to over do it as people try to work a little bit too hard sometimes and it can be your worst enemy.
"We've worked out we just want to play for each other and see how things go from there."
Much was spoken about Lomax looking to take over the fullback's role this season.
He started the season there but has also played on the wing and in the centres in the five games so far.
Lomax was on the edge in their win and after a number of back line changes across the side he's hoping to find some continuity.
"There has been a fair bit of reshuffling in the fullbacks and around the halves as well," he said.
"Playing in one position you get to create a lot more combinations and have a fair bit more trust in the players you are working with. Defending at centre you need to create a good combination with your edges - your halves, back rowers and wingers - and being in a position week-in, week-out allows you to do that.
"Mary (coach Paul McGregor) is looking to find the team he's happy with to put on the park each week and I've got to play a role for the team for the time being. As long as we can get the two points that is the main thing on my mind."

Lomax has retained his place in the number four jumper with former Junee product Adam Clune at halfback.
Like the Dragons the Titans have just one win under there belts so it means there will be no underestimating their rivals.
"The way the NRL is there are no easy games so we you have to have your best performance week in, week out," Lomax said.
"That is what the good teams go and the range between their good and bad games isn't too far. That's what we want to be."
