Both A Good Ideal and Blacknbrown brought up their first wins in almost two years across the six-race card.
Blacknbrown put in a tough effort to bring up his first win since July 2018.
It had been 21 starts between successes for the Terry Judd-trained eight-year-old
Reinsman Peter McRae was pleased to finally breakthrough.
"He went super. The time he run he's been running that at Wagga and I think that is just him," McRae said.
"He's actually been racing well but probably striking better horses.
"It was a pretty big drop in grade."
McRae had more than his hands full early with Blacknbrown pulling extremely hard after drawing 10.
Left no option but to go forward to sit without cover, McRae thought it ultimately helped.
"I thought I was in a bit of trouble but it didn't seem to worry him," he said.
"I got up up there and going early enough."
Blacknbrown went on to down Kamwood Izzy by 4.6 metres, with Rocco Variety a further 19.5 metres away.
A Good Ideal was another to end a long winless streak.
The eight-year-old had been placed in 17 of his 53 starts for Ganmain trainer-driver Ray Turner following his last win in September 2018 and finally found his race.
Taking advantage of the one draw, A Good Ideal ($4.60) sat behind leader Sunofasis ($19) before finding space in the straight to win by 2.1 metres.
It was his third career win from 103 starts to go with another 28 placings.
Meanwhile 10-year-old Barkway Dulcie was another to breakthrough.
And while she didn't wait as many starts to win as others on the night, the win was a long time in the making.
The daughter of Windradyne started at the trials in January 2018 but didn't make her debut until January this year.
Unplaced in her first five starts, Barkway Dulcie took advantage of barrier one to bring up her first win for trainer-driver Garth Hoy.
Be Good Benny also won his first race at his ninth start.
