The Brumbies take on Melbourne Rebels in two trials at Parramore Park over the weekend.
While much cooler temperatures are expected for the second clash at 11.30am on Sunday, the first game scheduled for 3.30pm on Saturday.
Despite the forecast top of 44 degrees the clash will go ahead however the exact format is yet to be determined and won't be decided on until Saturday.
It is expected shorter periods of play, potentially quarters, will be used with longer drink breaks.
Sunday's game will still be played in 40 minute halves.
Former Wagga schoolgirl Clare Harpley has been added to the strong Southern Inland contingent.
She has been called into the training squad after some injury concerns and is expected to get some game time over the weekend.
Ag College's Harriet Elleman, former CSU players Biola Dawa and Claudia Obst and former Waratahs playmaker Jane Garraway were named in the squad.
Dawa, who made the move to Canberra midway through last season, is looking forward to playing back at home even with the hot weather forecast.
"I'm stoked," Dawa said.
"I haven't played in Wagga for almost a whole year now so I'm pretty keen to get back."
Dawa was part of the Brumbies team last year who were knocked out in the first weeks of finals and is looking to build on her game this season.
The Wagga trials are the first full hit outs in pre-season.
The Brumbies have another trial against NSW Waratahs next Saturday before the season kicks off against the RugbyWA side on February 15.
