With plenty of retirements expected after their back-to-back premiership success last season, the Wagga club is hopeful some fresh talent can help regenerate their playing ranks.
Speedster Rob Selosse is just one confirmed arrivals for Waratahs.
Co-coach Angus Stevenson is looking forward to injecting him in the back line.
"He's very quick and he played first grade for Woollahra Colleagues in Sydney," Stevenson said.
Josh Gemmell has also linked with the club after moving for work.
He's previously playing for Albury in Southern Inland as well as CSU Bathurst..
Stevenson expects he'll add to their playmaking stocks.
However Stevenson is hopeful the number will swell to more than five by the time the club officially gets their pre-season under way in late January.
There is doubt over the playing futures of many in the experienced side.
Among the confirmed departures is former Bill Castle Medal winner Blake Hart and Harry Hosegood, who was named best in both grand final victories.
"We're just waiting for them to get to town but there is a pretty strong handful and that's without including what is going to come from the Army side of things," Stevenson said.
"In terms of what we are seeing at the moment there are five to six player with reasonable talent.
"There's no Blake Harts but maybe one or two could be in that frame."
Joining Michael Davis for a second year in the first grade coaching set up, Stevenson is looking forward to giving some of the more unheralded Waratahs players a chance to shine.
"We have to allow for the likes of Tom Hobbs and a few other players who are just killing it in second grade to come through," he said.
The new-look Southern Inland competition kicks off on April 4 with Hay stepping back up to first grade to see nine clubs now in the running for the title.
'Tahs start their official pre-season training on January 31 but will have more casual sessions beforehand.
