It's been far from an ideal start for last year's preliminary finalists, but they are keen to start turning things around up against South Wagga at Harris Park on Saturday.
They've only won once so far this season but are coming off a another near miss.
Kooringal went within a wicket of stealing some much needed points from an unlikely situation last week.
After picking up one wicket with the scores already locked, the clash with Wagga RSL looked set to end in a tie after the Bulldogs set off on a tight run.
However captain Keenan Hanigan couldn't complete the dismissal after a wild throw.
Despite getting to the cusp of victory, Hanigan was still disappointed overall.
"Last week was disappointing and obviously it just wasn't enough runs at the end," Hanigan said.
"We bowled really well to get nine wickets and made it tough for them, but you don't win too many two-day games with 170 on the board.
"It was disappointing in the end."
Colts took 9-89 after the Bulldogs put on 81 for the first wicket.
Hanigan wants to see that form come into big clash with South Wagga.
"When you play South Wagga you know what you are going to get," he said.
"They are a quality team and have some quality players so we have to play our best cricket to beat them.
"We'll go in hoping to get the win. Whatever happens happens, but we need to start winning games."
Colts are last but only six points adrift of the top four while South Wagga sit on top of the ladder.
Kooringal are hoping the cricket nets can help them provide first class education for future generations.
The three new nets at Harris Park cost around $60,000 and president Rob Etchells believe they help attract plenty of burgeoning new cricketers to the sport.
"It's brilliant and I think it is the equal to anything in regional NSW," Etchells said.
"It provides a great facility for our junior and senior club.
"I think facilities like this bring kids to your cricket club and that is the future of our cricket club.
"We have to look after their development and need to give them the best facilities we can."
