Guy stepped up to first grade and struck not once but twice in Wagga RSL's five-wicket win over Kooringal Colts on Saturday.
However the 41-year-old is more than happy to drop back down to second grade.
"I don't want to play in the top grade predominately," Guy said.
"I normally play on average one, maybe two games a season in ones over the last x amount of years and it is usually on weekends like just gone when we've got five or six guys out at the same time."
However he was thrilled to contribute to the side after their horror batting performance in the previous round.
Guy finished with 2-22 off his full allotment of eight overs.
"There's nothing wrong with being able to go up and then contribute," he said.
"There's nothing worse than going up and just being a passenger."
Guy went for nine runs in the over before drinks but soon found his rhythm.
First he snared Tom Cox with a leg before wicket decision, but admitted there could be have been some fortune in the lbw call with Matthew Etchells.
"I was happy with the Cox decision, I might have got lucky with the Matthew Etchells one," Guy said.
"But the umpire gave it when I asked the question."
The wickets helped change the game as the Colts lost 7-61 to be bowled out for 160 in tough conditions at Wagga Cricket Ground.
With the strong wind, Guy rated them was some of the worst he's played in.
"It was tough conditions to bowl and it was certain tough conditions to bat as well," he said. "The wind was terrible and one of the worst conditions I've played cricket in in 20 years."
Wagga RSL have a big challenge when the face undefeated South Wagga in a Twenty 20 on Saturday but Guy is unsure where he'll line up with commitments as the Wagga Sloggers scorer as well over the weekend.
"I'm hoping I'll be back in second grade, but as I'm travelling with the Sloggers if I don't play first grade then I won't be playing at all."
