The MIA team will head to Albury on Sunday to take on Border Bullets at Billson Oval as they look to make a strong start to the competition.
"If we can get the win this weekend it will give the boys a bit of confidence ahead of the trip to Canberra next weekend," Pascoe said.
"We were pretty competitive a couple of seasons ago. There are just a few tactical things that we need to work on a get right."
The Rangers named a 20-man squad last week, and while they have lost Logan Matheson through injury, Pascoe feels there is plenty of depth to provide cover.
"There are plenty of boys who are able to come into the side," he said.
"We have a pretty big squad to cover for any issues."
With the first couple of rounds of the local competition under their belt, Pascoe is happy with how the Griffith players are looking heading into their clash with the Bullets.
"It is good to shake the rust off early," he said.
"We have gone with a fairly young side for this weekend and are confident heading in."
The Rangers will also be without Dean Bennett.
