The South Wagga recruit will line up against the Bulls for the first time as the two sides play off for the Larkins, Mumford and Rogers Memorial Cup.
Smeeth spent three seasons at the club, including captaining the side to their premiership success in 2017-18, but making the switch this season.
However he'll step into the unknown at Robertson Oval.
"It's completely new to me as I've never, ever played against a club that I've played for," Smeeth said.
"It's just another game of cricket that we have to play well to win."
However the 30-year-old expects some banter in the middle.
"I stay in touch with a couple of them and are still pretty good mates with a few," Smeeth said.
"I had a few beers with Isaac Cooper the other day and we chewed the fat a little bit and had a bit of a laugh, so there will be a bit of banter out there for sure.
"Hopefully nothing that goes past that line and it certainly won't be from me."
Smeeth has made a good impact in his first three matches for the Blues.
He scored an unbeaten 57 in the grand final rematch against Wagga City to start the season and has picked up two wickets in each of their last two innings.
However he feels there is more to come.
"I had a few mates from the Sloggers last year so fitting in wasn't really a huge issue and it was nice to get a few runs and a chip in with a couple of wickets," Smeeth said.
"It always makes you a bit more settled in the team so I'm pretty happy.
"My fitness needs a lot of work and bowling wise it is a bit of a struggle at the moment.
"I've got of work to do to get back to bowling a bit faster and in longer spells, but I feel like I'm hitting it alright with the bat and I am enjoying it."
Lachie Skelly will also take on the Bulls for the first time after having one season at the club last year.
The premiers are yet to drop a match through the first three rounds of the season.
However Smeeth knows they can be a lot better against a Lake Albert outfit who have won two of their first three clashes.
"We don't really feel like we've played anywhere near our potential yet, which is encouraging when you've won three games in a row," he said.
"When we do starting putting it together I think we are going to win very well.
"We've played average games of cricket so far and done pretty well so we've just got to put it all together on the day."
