Collingullie's Jock Travis Neilsen, 18, appeared in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday for a bail hearing in relation to numerous dangerous driving and traffic charges. Mr Neilsen has not yet entered pleas.

Police documents tendered to the court accuse Mr Neilsen of driving in a dangerous manner along Baylis, Morgan and Best streets on August 4.

At the time, he allegedly had three Mastercards, a Medicare card and a WorkSafe Victoria card that did not belong to him.

In court on Wednesday, registrar Paul Fernon granted bail to Mr Neilsen but with additional conditions.

These include reporting to Wagga police three times a week and abstaining from drugs and alcohol.

"You're a young man, you don't want to be spending time in custody, so comply with your bail conditions - it's as easy as that," Mr Fernon said.

Earlier in the hearing, Mr Neilsen's defence solicitor said concerns about him committing further offences would be mitigated by more conditions.

The lawyer also cited his entry into the Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment program.

"He has the opportunity to participate in this program to become a good candidate for rehabilitation," she said.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Kieran Drever argued for bail to be refused because he had allegedly breached four bail conditions from the alleged incidents in August.

"The manner of driving does imply that he was evading police knowing they were seeking to pull him over," Sergeant Drever said.

She said a custodial penalty is not "a foregone conclusion".

Mr Neilsen faces charges of driving furiously, recklessly, or in a manner dangerous to the public; driving an unregistered and uninsured car; unlawfully possessing number plates; and unlawfully obtained goods.

He also faces several counts of driving while suspended.

The 18-year-old is set to face Wagga Local Court again on September 25.
