Council's visitor economy and events coordinator Fiona Hamilton encouraged families to mark the date in the calendar.
"Council's events team is busy putting the finishing touches on the second-ever Spring Jam, festival, with a jam-packed day of wild and wonderful outdoor adventure, music, entertainment, play and imagination in store for festival-goers," she said.
"The line-up is bigger and better this year, with regulars to the Australian festival scene Bunny Racket, School of Rock and The Cope Street Band headed to Wagga for the festival.
"There's also Flying Fruit Fly Circus workshops, an Animal Party Disco for littlies, the return of our SJ Radio Reporters competition, rock climbing, an obstacle course, the Willans Hill Miniature Railway and so much more."
"If you're a parent, grandparent or carer, mark Saturday 28 September in your calendar for what will be one of the biggest children's events in the region.
Entry is free and families are encouraged to pack a picnic and enjoy a day of fun and sunshine in the Botanic Gardens.
This year's event will also see the inclusion of PLATFORM, an exciting new accessible chill out space for little festival goers with sensory needs and their carers.
