The fullback put in a strong performance as the Wagga side scored a 14-6 win over Young at Twickenham on Sunday.
While Warburton was a stand out captain Gabe Knight was thrilled with the team's defence.
"We were very happy, and a little bit surprised to be still alive," Knight said. "In the second half we put all our effort into our defending, we were patient in attack which enabled Mads to do what she does best - swivel her hips and get through the line."
It was the first time Kangaroos had beaten Young this season and now they are on the hunt for another first when they face Albury at Equex Cente on Saturday.
The Thunder have won both their clashes so far, including a 20-4 win in the last round of the season.
"It's been a few years since we've beaten them so it is going to be a big, big game for us," Knight said.
"We are on home turf, which is nice and hopefully can help us out a bit but we're pretty happy with we are to be honest."
However Albury need to rebound after being hammered by Brothers in the qualifying final on Saturday.
The premiers scored a 28-0 win to set up a clash with unbeaten Temora for a place in the grand final at Anzac Park on Sunday.
