A state funeral for former deputy prime minister Tim Fischer will be held in Albury on Thursday.

The 73-year-old father of two and AC died on Wednesday night following treatment at the Albury-Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.
The public are invited to attend the funeral which will be held at the Albury Entertainment Centre at 1pm with Lester and Son Funeral Directors asking those attending to arrive early and be seated by 12.15pm.
The funeral was organised through the office of Prime Minister Scott Morrison who has been in Vietnam.
Mr Morrison took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the death of his "dear friend".
"Jenny and I are deeply saddened by Tim's passing. Tim Fischer was a big Australian in every sense of the word. Big in stature, big in his belief, big in his passion, big in his vision for what Australians could achieve," he said.

"And big in his view of Australia's place in the world. As a result, Tim Fischer will forever cast a big shadow on our nation."
"Members of the public are welcome to attend and will be shown to seating in order of arrival until the venue reaches capacity. Doors will open at 11.30 am," the funeral notice said.
"Attendees are kindly requested to be seated by 12.15 pm."
In announcing his death the family thanked the "wonderful medical and nursing professionals" at the cancer centre.
"After successfully battling three cancers since 2009, the fourth cancer, acute myeloid leukaemia eventually claimed his life although he continued to contribute to his many passions and attend functions right until the day of his final hospitalisation," the announcement said.
When he retired from politics, Mr Fischer worked tirelessly for many causes, including autism awareness, veterans affairs and agricultural research.
A condolence book will be available at Riverina MP Michael McCormack's Wagga office for those wishing to pass on their thoughts, wishes and memories to his family.
Member for Farrer Sussan Ley has also opened a condolence book in her Albury office. Ms Ley took over from Mr Fischer in the seat of Farrer in 2001.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust in Mr Fischer's name at awcancertrust.org.au/make-a-donation

Mr Fischer is survived by wife Judy Brewer AO and his two sons Harrison and Dominic.
