But after multiple rejections, relocating the family and looking at alternative education options, like homeschooling, Rory and Georgia Smith are finally enroled in school.

The Tolland residents started at The Rock Central School in the last week of term 2 after about two months of being in limbo.

"It feels normal, like we should be here," Rory said.

"I hadn't been to the Central school before, but it's a pretty normal school and I like it.

"We have to wake up at 6am now, but it's OK."

The students are now required to catch two buses to school, changing at Uranquinty, as all Wagga high schools rejected their enrolments.

Mum Danuelle Healey said her children are now jumping out of bed in the morning, despite the early hours, and are "excited" to go to school.

"This is the best high school I have ever sent my kids to; it was a stroke of luck in the inconvenient situation we were in," Ms Healey said.

"They were very warmly welcomed by the school, they are encouraged in their classes ... and the teachers build a strong rapport with the students.

"I think they're just as grateful and really appreciative to the school ... we're really blessed."

Ms Healey said she was concerned about her children's self esteem due to their enrolments being refused.

"Georgia was feeling really anxious about starting school with all the rejections, but this new school has really paid attention to her," she said.
