The Dragons held off premiers Brothers to score a 8-4 win at Equex Centre on Sunday.
Temora were the only team to get the better of the Wagga side so far this season and repeated the dose.
Coach Jackelyn Hughes was impressed with how the team held tight as Brothers fought hard to come up with a final try.
"I was very, very proud of the girls," Hughes said.
"It was a huge team effort.
"We had to defend our backsides off but we stayed somewhat calmed and composed.
"Our attitude was really good."
Temora went into the break with a 4-0 lead after Bree Madden scored midway through the first half.
Paige Amarant doubled their lead after 11 minutes only for Madison Dunn to get the Brethren within a try.
Madden then came up with a crucial tag on her try line to deny what looked like a Brothers try late.
Temora scored a 14-6 win when the teams met earlier in the season but Hughes believes the latest result will give them plenty of confidence as finals approach.
"It's definitely nice to know that it wasn't just a one-off effort beating them the first time but I definitely don't want to get my hopes up," she said.
"Brothers are a class side so we'll just take it one game at a time."
The win ensures the Dragons will finish with the minor premiership, with their points difference significantly stronger than Brothers in the unlikely event they drop their last two games of the regular season.
It means they will have the first week off the finals off.
Hughes isn't sure it's an ideal thing for the side.
"I'm not a big fan of having a week off by we have to deal with it as it comes," she said.
"The season has gone very quick and it's crazy we're up to round 17."
Meanwhile Kangaroos scored a crucial win to give them a big boost towards finishing in fifth.
They scored a 18-4 win over Southcity, a result which should see plays finals with an automatic two points coming their this weekend with Tumut not fielding a leaguetag side this season.
Cootamundra are now a win, plus percentage, outside the five after their 16-6 loss to fourth-placed Albury.
The Thunder plays Young on Sunday with the victor likely to secure third place and a second chance come finals time.
Meanwhile Gundagai scored a 54-0 win over winless Junee to complete the round.
