Bright Flash will have his first start for the Wagga trainer on his new home track on Sunday.
He hasn't raced since February and Williams hoping applying a set of blinkers will keep the usually consistent greyhound with his mind on the task at hand.
"It's been a task to get him to the track as he had a marring ticket but we've got him cleared in a trial and he's ready to race now," Williams said.
"Touch wood from box one he should go ok."
After being stood down after impeding rivals when turning him head at Gosford, Bright Flash had one qualifying trial without the rarely used gear without success for Williams, but was much improved with them on last time out.
Williams has never raced a greyhound in blinkers before, but thought Bright Flash deserved a chance with a win and six placings to his credit from nine career starts.
"I've had him for three months now and I think I've turned him around," Williams said. "Hopefully he keeps his head straight."
Williams believes the blinkers improve focus on the lure rather than other greyhounds in the race.
"Sometimes it doesn't work on dogs but sometimes it does," he said.
"He did fail his clearance trial without them but passed it with them so it goes to show they might work for him."
Williams also has Indigo Summer drawn ideally in the Ian McKenzie Appreciation Stakes (320m).
She has a perfect record from the one box, and with more fitness under her belt following a first-up second, Williams is hoping she can extend her great run from the inside alley.
"She's come off a spell after an injury but box one should really suit her," he said.
"She is three from three from that box and with a bit of luck early she should lead and hold on for the win."
Indigo Summer pulled up sore after a catching pen incident, but Williams is confident he's got the better of the problem.
However she's found a couple of tough rivals with Lucky Loot looking to make it three wins in a row for Faye Herbert while Dana Ace has been runner-up in her last two races for the strong Rod McDonald kennel.
"I think she got a corkie in a hind leg after being hit in the pen and hasn't been the same since, but last meeting she ran a real good race so I might have her back now," Williams said.
"She was probably a run under done and if she had another trial before that she might have held on.
"She got a little bit tired and that think that was the case there."
A large 11-race card kicks off with the Ladbrokes Mixed Series Final (320m).
Greyhounds qualified from the club's last meeting on July 12.
It's a change from the club's usual Friday night timeslot with the first race to be run at 5.24pm.
