Tumut are one of only two teams the Thunder haven't been able to get the better of so far this season.
It's something coach Adrian Purtell is looking to turnaround in order to reduce their three-point gap to third.
"It was a big game for us last week and unfortunately we couldn't get the result so it put a little bit more importance on this game for us," Purtell said.
"We are under no illusions it is going to be tough going up to Tumut, who are playing really well, but we are looking forward to the occasion."
Tumut scored a 18-8 win when the teams met earlier this season.
Some brilliance from Lachlan Bristow proved to be the big difference between the two sides and the Blues hooker won't be an obstacle this time as he recovers from a lacerated kidney.
Southcity are the only other side Albury haven't been able to get the better of so far.
They've lost to the Bulls twice, including a 24-18 result last week.
However after losing by 26 points in the first half of the season, Purtell has taken plenty of positives from the clash.
"You just want to improve each week and we would have liked to have got the win last week but it was an improvement on our first round performance," he said.
Controlling the ruck better, especially against the big Blues pack to one thing Purtell wants to see improve from last week.
"I thought Southcity controlled field position really well and we were always on the back foot," he said.
"They had some really good ruck speed so we're looking to have a better kicking game and hopefully that leads to some better field position."
It's also an area Southcity struggled with in their loss to Tumut a fortnight ago.
Albury have made one change with former NRL player Etu Uaisele to sit out the clash.
Needing to rest his body after a couple of tough games, Damian Scott comes back into the centres.
He's played plenty of the position over the last month with Purtell sidelined with a quadriceps problem.
Tumut have also made a change with Josh Webb out of the side after breaking his nose in the 50-10 win over Cootamundra.
The returning Austin McDougall takes his place.
The Blues have their eye on top spot and can't afford a slip up at home.
They are currently one point behind Gundagai, who they face in the last game before finals next month, but also need to keep winning to ensure a top three finish.
