After narrowly avoiding the wooden spoon last year, the Cherrypickers have had another average season with four wins and a draw so far.
They sit in eighth ahead of a clash with Southcity on Sunday.
The Englishman doesn't believe he has the time to commit to another season at the helm.
"The amount of effort and time I'd like to put in takes away from other things," Jewitt said.
"I've got four boys all playing sport and it takes me away from them so I've got to prioritise."
Jewitt thought the side had plenty of potential, including labeling them the strongest Young side in recent years heading into round one.
However the results haven't been forthcoming for the non-playing coach.
"They would probably be better going for a good halfback who can talk and lead them around," Jewitt said.
"It's probably something we've really not had."
